Malcolm James McCormick is born on January 19, 1992, in the Point Breeze area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His mother, Karen Meyers, is a photographer and his father, Mark McCormick, is an architect. Beginnings (2007-2010)
Mac Miller started rapping at the age of 14. He previously wanted to be a singer-songwriter. He released his first mixtape, But My Mackin ‘Is not Easy, in 2007 under the name of EZ Mac when he was only 15 years old.
Miller is part of Ill Spoke with another Pittsburgh rapper, Beedie. They created How High, their first duet mixtape, in 2008. The following year, Mac released two other mixtapes titled The Jukebox: Prelude to Class Clown and The High Life Solo.
At the age of 18, Mac Miller signs for Rostrum Records and publishes a mixtape titled KIDS (Kickin’ ‘Incredibly Dope Shit) with this label. In August 2010. This mixtape features titles like Nikes On My Feet, Do not Mind If I Do, which is a sample of Fireflies by Owl City, Good Evening or Outside. He went on a tour for the first time on a tour called Incredibly Dope Tour, at the close of the year and was awarded two times at the Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards.
First studio album and other achievements (2011-2012)
The 11 March 2011Miller published his fifth mixtape titled Best Day Ever, in which includes songs like Donald Trump, ‘Best Day Ever, Get Up, All Around The World and many others. On November 22, 2010, released the video clip of his song Knock Knock which is his first single. The mixtape will be more and more downloaded, thanks to the success of Donald Trump.
In July 2011, he announced his first studio album, titled Blue Slide Park, which was released on on8 November 2011. It also participates in the remix of the song Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5. In October 2011, he directed a 13-song mixtape called I Love Life, Thank You with Sir Michael Rocks from Cool Kids, Talib Kweli, and Bun B. His first album ranked number one on the Billboard 200, flowing to 144,000 copies the first week, making the rapper the first artist, since 1995, to place an independent first album at the top of the rankings.
The same year, he was one of eleven rappers in the Freshman Class List magazine XXL. He made his first televised appearance in the show Single Ladies on the channel VH1. In February 2012, he published a trailer for his Missed Calls clip. The official version is released in July. His new mixtape, Macadelic, is distributed on 23 march 2012.
In this project, he tackles more serious subjects, contrasting with the lightness of his first projects. He makes the single Loud, taken from the eponymous mixtape which ranks at position 53 on the Billboard Hot 100. He made a video shortly afterward for his song Thoughts of A Balcony. In June 2012, he put his song Onaroll on YouTube. It is also produced by artist Pharrell Williams. In August he made a new single called Glow, then PlanetCarBoat, a song in which appears the rapper SchoolBoy Q.

In October 2012, Miller announced the release of his second album at the beginning of 2013. He is part of the cast of his reality show, Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family, broadcast on MTV2.
In March, he published Run-On Sentences Vol. 1, a new mixtape with instrumental parts performed by himself. This is the first time he has signed with the name of Larry Fisherman. He announces the same month that the first single from his second album is Somebody Do Something. He discovered a part of the song in the second episode of its reality.
It is featuring with Ariana Grande on the song The Way which appears on the album Yours Truly. The14 June 2013, he publishes his second studio album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off which is well received by the specialized press which says to appreciate its psychedelic style. With titles SDS, Watching Movies and Goosebumpz, the album class 3 e the Billboard 200 and flows to 101 000 copies in the first week.
It includes Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, the Creator, Action Bronson and Jay Electronica. The album has three singles: SDS, Watching Movies and Goosebumps. In Aug. 2013, Mac Miller turned the second season of Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family. He founded REMEMBER Music, his label named for a deceased friend.
He began by producing Stolen Youth, a mixtape by artist Vince Staples, and then went on a European tour with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.
