Bow Wow was born in Columbus, Ohio, son of Teresa Rena Caldwell (née Jones) and Alfonso Preston Moss. At age three, it sparked interest in hip-hop. On November 1, 2010, Bow Wow released the first promotional single from the album titled; “Is not Thinkin ‘Bout You” with Chris Brown, two weeks after its release, it hit # 1 on the hip-hop chart and remained in 1st place for three days. On June 2, 2011, announced that the first single from the album would be serious ” I am Da Man,” and would feature Chris Brown again.
In May of 2015, with his long-overdue album with Cash Money still with no release date, Bow Wow announced that he had amicably left Cash Money Records so he could move forward with his musical career. On September 27, 2015, Bow Wow had signed with Diddy to sign with Bad Boy Records.

His family supported his choice in music as a career. Bow Wow now lives in Atlanta, Georgia along with his mother, who already owned a clothing store in the Atlantic Station area of Atlanta.
